Mardi Gras
Its the first week of February, several days after Luke, Sally, and their new found friend Cathy shared a day and night of mind blowing sex.
Luke is sitting at his desk at work sifting through papers about circulations, new items, book club meetings, and best of all finding items to read to the kids for story time. As he’s looking at several subversive picture books that he’d like to read to the kids but knows that he never would be able to get away with the phone rings. Not the office phone at the desk he shares with two other part time librarians but his cell phone. The ring tone tells him that it isn’t Sally or his couple of friends, wondering who it is he answers it.
“Hello?” he answers inquisitively.

I have tears streaming down my face. Jesus, this is a GORGEOUS mentality to have raising children but especially parents raising daughters. Women, from girlhood on, have so many people and corporations and governments telling them, yelling AT THEM, what their bodies are meant for, their purpose, their very MEANING, and Will and Jada have taken that back, have given the power over and autonomy of her body back to their daughter.
Let’s be really clear here, in today’s climate, that’s a fucking revolutionary act.
